Description
Lot #550 - Matching numbers 232cid 6-cylinder 3-speed with overdrive. It has a working radio, heater, turn signals and leather seats as originally equipped. The Hudson was bought new by Doris Jones in the Russell, KS area. At some time, Doris Jones was the County Treasurer of Russell County, KS. The paper work shows Mrs. Leona Brewer, also of Russell, KS, purchased the car from Doris Jones. In March 1965, she sold the Hudson to Maurice E Ramsey of Russell, KS for $22.00 plus her gas bill which she couldn't pay. Maurice ran a Skelly Station at that time. The last record of Maurice Ramsey as owner was 1975, as shown on an owner registration receipt. The next owner was Max L Reiter of Beloit, KS. Max had the car for about 20 years and that when he bought it from Maurice Ramsey, he had to use a chain saw to cut a tree down that had grown up in front of Maurice's garage door. In October 2005, the current owner purchased the Hudson from Max. L Reiter. Max never had the Hudson running. He stored the car in an old building until he decided to sell it. When the current owner got the Hudson home, restoration began with the mechanical parts. When that was finished, all the removable sheet metal and glass were removed. All the metal parts were blasted, primed and painted. The reassembly was finished in 2012.
