Lot #477 - This iconic Shelby Cobra Daytona coupe re-creation was a labor of love and a very high quality build. No expense was spared, over 3,000 hours and $77,875.96 in parts receipts. No detail was overlooked, no donor parts were used and no shortcuts were taken using all new and the highest quality parts directly from Ford Racing. Professionally built, engineered and assembled using the renowned Factory Five Racing body and chassis. The outstanding exterior finish complements the high level of detail throughout. The jig-welded original style 4" round tube frame, 95" wheelbase chassis is powder coated black and each of the 6061 aluminum panels have been textured black powder coated then bonded to the chassis and attached with S.S. aircraft grade rivets. The body is hand laid 3/16" laminate composite made with high quality vinyl ester resin that includes a hinged nose, main rear clip and doors with hinged rear window. Grade 8 fasteners have been used throughout its construction. This Cobra Daytona is powered by a Ford Racing 347cid short block. Nothing but premium parts were used. Matted to the engine is a TKO 5-speed with Hurst shifter and a King Cobra R clutch assembly. The rear end is an 8.8" Ford with a 3.55 gear ratio and Moser 28-spline hardened rear axles were added to handle the power. The rear suspension is a 3-bar setup for better handling and the front suspension has tubular upper and lower control arms. ECSTA XS tires are used for the ultimate in street handling and grip. Koni brand high performance mono-tube, coilover shock absorbers are used on all four corners. The interior is equipped with Kirkey racing seats and Simpson 5-point harnesses. Glove box door hand signed by Bob Bondurant. This Cobra comes with a full binder of all receipts and construction pictures of this meticulous build. Car is fresh with only 269 miles on it.
