Description
Lot #372 - This is a superbly preserved, mostly original car that is an amazing example of the 1st year Toronado. Never fully restored, this Toronado has been impeccably cared for since new and has benefitted from one professional repaint in white. Under the hood is the original 425cid V8 engine, which is backed by a 3-speed Switch-Pitch automatic transmission. The interior showcases blue marble upholstery, creating a pleasing contrast against the crisp white exterior. The upholstery and carpeting are mostly original and the deluxe interior features Strato bench seats, a tilt/telescoping steering wheel, factory air conditioning and AM radio. The car rides on a set of custom chrome wheels and comes with the original wheels as well. In 1966 the Toronado won the coveted Motor Trend "Car of the Year" award as the first practical, domestic, full sized front wheel drive car since the cords of the 1930's.
