Lot #1253 - This 1953 Buick Skylark convertible, built in February 1953, was one of 1,690 built to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Buick. 322/188hp Fireball V8 engine, 3-speed Dynaflow automatic transmission, independent front suspension with coil springs, live rear axle and 4-wheel power drum brakes. Power windows, power top and power steering. This Buick Skylark was restored about 13 years ago and is an all matching numbers car. This car spent most of its life in rust-free California and Nevada, ultimately into a museum in a private collection. Presented with a new frame-on body repaint in 2008 with red/white leather interior, accented with a new black convertible top. Chrome and stainless steel was also refurbished at the time, along with the stunning Kelsey Hayes wire wheels and spinners. The eye-catching red and white leather interior was also restored with all upholstered components in already good condition. The Skylark displays the correct restored steering wheel, along with new correct properly fitted carpet. A wide white wall spare tire, mounted on the original chrome Kelsey Hayes 40-spoke is located in its proper location. The extensively detailed engine compartment reveals the 322cid overhead valve Nailhead V8 engine. The engine block and rocker covers are refinished in Buick Green, while various other components are finished in beautiful black. The undercarriage has a nice appearance, refinished floor boards, frame and driveline. This Buick Skylark is a very nice high-end driver to enjoy. All power accessories work, while running and driving great.
