Description
Lot #1306 - Only 2,550 Mark IIs were produced. The 126" wheelbase chassis began with the installation of a Kugel Komponents 4.11:1 independent rear suspension system. The chassis had to be reworked out back to accept this rear end and A-arms had to be fabricated for the front to complete the custom IFS setup. Rack & pinion steering also went in along with Wilwood disc brakes for each corner of the car. All components have been chromed or polished. In keeping with the look of the original, 52-spoke, 17", Tru-Spoke chrome wire spoke wheels were wrapped with Michelin MXV4 235/55R17 rubber. Robert Pond Motorsports cast his own version of the Ford FE 427 engine block out of aluminum. Internally he improved on the design, bored and stroked to 482 cubes with a SCAT crank and rods and COMP Cams camshaft and CP pistons. Equipped with Edelbrock water pump and aluminum heads, MSD ignition system. The custom headers and exhaust are fabricated with polished stainless steel. Custom inner fenderwells and flowers were designed and fabricated to make the underside as beautiful as the upper. Full custom leather interior with classic gauges. The body chemically stripped, the original joints releaded and the body electro pleated and painted with DuPont paint. Power activated emergency brake. Power windows including vent windows, power locks, power brakes and steering. Hot Rod air conditioning system, classic instrument gauges, Billet Specialties steering wheel, IDIDIT column and no expense spared.
