Description
Lot #1000 - 1968 HEMI Super Stock Barracuda re-creation. This example was built from a never-rusted, never-hit, lifelong stay in Arizona body. It was completely disassembled and restored using all top-quality parts. The restoration was done in New River, AZ. The finished product is as good as it gets. The car was taken down to bare metal and finished in a glass smooth black. The bottom of the car is as nice as the top. The grilles, tail lights, bumpers and all trim have been restored. The outside of the car is show quality, to be authentic as the original '68 SS cars. It has fiberglass front fenders and hood. The glass in the doors and quarters are lightweight. The door glass operates up and down with belts as the originals. Inside are two lightweight bucket seats on lightweight aluminum seat brackets, a padded roll bar is in place for weekend nostalgia quarter-mile runs at the drag strip and front and rear frame rails are connected for added body strength. It has an outside mirror, radio and heater delete. Air conditioning was added for comfortable summer cruises. The HEMI engine is a new 528cid, balanced and blueprinted with hydraulic lifters putting 650hp to the ground. This is the ultimate two 4 barrel Cross Ram HEMI engine. The transmission is a heavy-duty TorqueFlite, shifted with a top-quality Cheetah shifter. The rear end is a bulletproof DANA 60 with Sure-Grip and 4.10 gears. Here is the ultimate HEMI car for the street or strip.
