Description
Lot #1029 - This beautiful Sunlit Gold Shelby #1505 convertible is listed in the Shelby Registry and has just 200 miles since its complete nut and bolt rotisserie restoration to original factory standards, where it retained most of its original parts, including seat upholstery and all body panels and fiberglass. During the restoration, the block and transmission serial numbers were located and verified. A documentation book is included in the sale that contains both Build Sheets, original owner's manual (signed by Carroll Shelby), Window Sticker, Deluxe Marti Report, previous owners' titles, registrations, maintenance receipts and many old photos. During the 2012 restoration, the factory air conditioning was rebuilt and blows cold. The entire convertible top system was rebuilt and all lines replaced. The entire undercarriage and inner structures were all blasted, inspected and repaired where needed and then epoxy primed, seam sealed and painted red oxide as original. All suspension pieces were also blasted, rebuilt and reinstalled. The original matching numbers engine was bored 10 over and completely rebuilt, and a roller cam shaft and retrofit roller lifter holders were installed. The original cylinder heads were rebuilt and reused, as was the matching numbers Cruise-O-Matic transmission. The 9" differential also received all new seals and bearings, and new brakes, lines and cables. The front brake calipers were rebuilt, as were the original lower control arms and entire front suspension. All undercarriage pieces were treated to their proper color treatment, paint marks and/or color-coded lines as from factory. The original interior was dyed and reused, with the exception of the door panels and console lid. The gauges are all original. Not one piece of this car was left untouched, rebuilt or replaced. Any original part that couldn't be rebuilt was replaced with NOS if possible or concours reproduction parts.
