Lot #1301 - The #1 prototype of the Shelby 2011 GT350 designed by Carroll Shelby has been housed at the Shelby Museum in Las Vegas until just recently. Only 770 original track and event miles. The Shelby has all of the original documentation along with an additional prototype hood and a 3-piece valance, and two sets of Prototype wheels, of which only 12 were made. Ford displayed this Prototype at the 2012 Barrett-Jackson Auction in Scottsdale. The car has been used in multiple photo shoots, displays, magazines and as a pace car for the Optima Battery Challenge. The car was designed and built under Carroll's personal direction. Total production for the 2011 was 159. White with optional painted Guardsman Blue stripes, painted in the Shelby paint shop, stripes do not go all the way down to the rear ground effects. The Shelby is built on special Eibach racing suspension; only 35 of the actual production run have this suspension, and the balance of the production was built on Ford racing suspension. It was built with all-new urethane parts and a prototype interior of premium calf leather. Car was used to develop a new cold-air intake and belt tension system. The 5.0 Liter V8 with its prototype air to air intercooler develops 600 plus horsepower for a great weight to horsepower ratio. The car has all of the original CSN plates, Carroll's signature on the dash, the pen that Carroll actually used to sign it and an XL GT350 Package jacket.
