Description
Lot #2102 - Fully restored and ready to show or ride, this 1948 Whizzer Pacemaker is a rare early-build example with non-hinged post-style seat mount and Schwinn-supplied single-coil front forks. After mid-1947, Whizzer substituted its own fork design and pivoted seat mount. The Schwinn forks are verified by a letter from the National Bicycle History Archive of America (included). Powered by a refreshed 1 cylinder, 4-stroke Whizzer engine with automatic clutch, this restored beauty is correct down to its Sturmey-Archer internal-shoe front brake, rear coaster brake, 24" chromed rims with extra-duty 105-gauge spokes, Whizzer Maroon and Cream paint and chrome front fender wing. The overall quality earned an AACA Senior National First Prize award in 2002. The brass AACA medallion (number W15724) is proudly affixed to the front fender.
