Description
Lot #2005 - Here is a rare opportunity to own a piece of the "Beverly Hillbillies" history. This vehicle was built, signed and purchased from none other than George Barris of Barris Kustom Industries. Barris Kustom Industries has been in business since 1944 and are well-known for their movie vehicles such as the "General Lee," the "Munster Mobile" and the "Batmobile." Documented by Mr. Barris as one of five vehicles built, it was filmed in the TV series as well as the "Beverly Hillbillies" movie. It is world famous for its unprecedented 12-year run on the original TV series with such stars as Buddy Ebsen, Irene Ryan, Max Baer Jr., Donna Douglas and Nancy Kulp. This was constructed using a 1922 Oldsmobile base and a vintage truck chassis. The truck runs and drives. It was once used as a parade vehicle and certainly draws attention. The mannequins will go with the car as well. This amazing, impressive Hillbilly Truck known as the "Jalopy" has been used at the Autorama, World of Wheels and Rod and Custom Car Shows. This truck was also used to transport the Grand Marshall Ken Squier of CBS Motorsports. This is a true piece of Hollywood history and would complete anyone's collection.
