Description
Lot #5006 - Just crowned "Goodguys America's Most Beautiful Street Rod" 2014, this 1936 Dodge Brothers sedan was 13 years in the making. Not one panel was overlooked in the build of this car. Modifications all over. Many one-off parts. Built to the highest level of quality, design and function. Debuted at the 2014 Portland Roadster Show, where it won the "Rose Cup" Grand Sweepstakes award, the top overall award in the show. This car has only been shown four times: Portland Roadster Show, Goodguys Puyallup, WA, the Goodguys West Coast Nationals in Pleasanton, CA, where it was crowned "America's Most Beautiful Street Rod" and the Goodguys Southwest Nationals. This car starts out with an Art Morrison full air-ride chassis, specifically built for this car. There were 5-1/2" taken out of the trunk area. It was also laid forward. The rear window was laid forward to match the new angle of the trunk. The entire lower rear area below the decklid was built from scratch, including the one-off rear bumper set into the body. There were 2" taken out of the roofline above the windows to give the car a sleeker profile. The grille was lowered 1" and laid back 1-1/2". There were 4-1/2" added to the front lower area of the doors to create a new laid-back door gap. The side cowl was completely restructured. The cowl vent was filled The new three-piece hood was completely scratch-built, with the top being double layered so that the inside is completely finished. The original horn pods were refabricated to house Harley-Davidson V-Rod headlamps complete with the Chrysler Pentastar inside the lights. The front fenders were extended down to match the outer fender line and bumperettes were fabricated from scratch. The running boards are scratch-built with an hourglass shape. All of the fenders and running boards were molded into the body. The dash was completely reworked and now flows into the custom-build garnish moldings. The rear seat was completely wrapped with a metal surround. A custom-built overhead console was fabricated, as well as a custom center console. Under the hood the metal-magic continued, fabricating valve cover adapters to mount the customized HEMI valve covers that now have "Rampage" embossed in them instead of the original "Chrysler Fire Power." An unbelievably unique cover was fabbed to emulate the Dodge Ram logo in a 3D form. That cover carries into a custom radiator cover. The Candy Red paint is a custom House of Kolor Candy base coat that was achieved in a two-stage process. There are custom graphics down the side of the car that tie in the detail of the wings of the restored front and rear emblems. The engine area was treated to the same paint treatment, with the addition of hydrographiced carbon fiber that was sprayed with a Candy Rootbeer to tie into the interior colors.
