Description
Lot #422 - Presenting a rare and truly stunning 1972 Chevrolet C-10 Super Cheyenne custom pickup with many upgrades. This truck was professionally restored with no expense spared. The suspension and braking systems were built by Hotchkis and Wilwood which was featured over multiple articles in Classic Truck Trends magazine. Only 250 test miles. The build design was planned by PCH Rods and the owner who were both race car drivers. The goal was to keep the truck very original but set it up to handle like a newer super truck. The mission was accomplished as it tracked by Hotchkis and stopped from 60-0 in 117 feet which was six feet quicker than a 2004 Ford Lighting and eight feet quicker than a 2004 Dodge Ram SRT-10. The exterior body is extremely straight with excellent gaps. The black paint is beautiful and show quality. Everything on the exterior has been restored or replaced including the glass. The sliding rear glass window was removed and included with sale. The front and rear bumpers were powder coated black to match the custom built Niche 19" wheels that are 19x10 on the front and 19x20 on the rear with Nitto Invo tires. The black exterior is complemented with a brand new black interior with red houndstooth and wood trim. The interior is factory correct with a custom Billet Specialties steering wheel. It has factory air conditioning that is in great working order. The entire truck has all brand new wiring from front to back. The original gas filler was smoothed over for a clean look and relocated in the beautiful wood bed floor. A stainless gas tank was installed under the bed with new gas lines. The engine compartment is highly detailed and home to the correct 402 V8. This engine was completely rebuilt and runs absolutely amazing. Some engine compartment upgrades include a show panel, air cleaner, polished valve covers, powder coated hood hinges, Wilwood master cylinder and polished bolts. The engine breathes through a complete custom exhaust with MagnaFlow mufflers. It was fabricated to go through the frame verses under the frame for safe clearance and a cleaner look. The engine is coupled with a rebuilt Turbo 400 transmission and 12-bolt rear end. The entire suspension system on this truck was done by Hotchkis themselves. It is equipped with Hotchkis Sports Suspension front and back with a full TVS kit. It has 2" CPP drop spindles on the front with Hotchkis coil springs front and back. It was lowered 6" in the front and rear. QA1 polished adjustable shocks were remounted on all four corners. The braking system was also professionally installed and includes Wilwood disc brakes at all four corners. It has 14" rotors on the front with 6-piston calipers and 12" rotors on the back with 4-piston calipers. It also has all new brakes lines and the proportioning valve was installed on the right side in the frame near the rear wheel.
