Lot #702 - This striking India Ivory over Dusk Rose '55 Chevrolet Bel Air 2 door post is currently owned by Jim Perkins, who is the retired General Manager of Chevrolet Motor Division, V.P. of General Motors and is currently associated with Hendricks Motorsports. Sold from Perkin's personal collection. This one is upgraded with the desirable Power Pak option package which includes a 265 4 barrel V8. The car has its original 3-speed manual overdrive transmission and original rear end, all of the drivetrain was rebuilt to factory specs at the time of restoration. This California built, sold, driven, restored and enjoyed '55 was frame-off restored in 1995/1996 and has been driven only 1,682 miles since. The car was also lightly refreshed by the same restorer at a later date. Thanks to being restored with all of its original rust-free sheet metal and original California one-piece bumpers, overall fit and finish appears to be in like-new showroom condition. Photo documentation of pre-restoration condition and tear-down photos will be included with the car. Also included with the car are the original owner's manual, original California license plates, original Chevrolet sales brochure and accessory guide, original '55 shop manual, proof of Jim Perkin's ownership through registrations dating from 1995 to current and some previous owner history and service records dating back to the mid '80s.
