Lot #416 - This Chevelle SS is a Van Nuys-built, L48, M20 4-speed car delivered new in Lodi, CA with F40 heavy duty suspension, G80 posi-traction axle, heavy duty radiator, black Strato bucket seats, accessory lamps, all Soft Ray glass, windshield antenna for the AM radio, the SS gauge package, electric clock and more. It has resided in California or Oregon its entire known life and it is the recipient of complete high performance restoration finished in 2006 which has been immaculately kept since. The build was meant to retain a factory stock look, but it packs an upgraded Pro-Built 454 big block under the hood. The engine is bored .030 over and features SRP 9.8:1 pistons and fully balanced rotating assembly, 1970 oval port closed chamber heads, steel roller rockers and upgraded valves, a Crane hydraulic cam, Hedman headers and Flowmaster Superflow 40 dual exhaust. The M20 4-speed has a balanced GM Performance flywheel and pressure plate, a Centerforce clutch and it drives a 3.73 12-bolt posi-traction rear end. Likewise, the suspension is upgraded to keep up with the big block power, featuring 7/8" sway bars, boxed rear control arms, new front coils, PST polygraphite bushings, KYB shocks, new front disc brakes and upgraded 11" Impala rear drums with new power brake booster and rebuilt power steering. Included with the car are the original factory Build Sheet, owner's manual, service manuals, original sales brochure and $22,000 in parts receipts for the mechanical rebuild/upgrades. This Chevelle drives supremely well with tight handling and excellent power.
