Lot #79 - Red interior and exterior, 327/300hp engine, automatic transmission, power steering and power brakes. Rust-free, built in California, owned in California, same owner for 19 years and completed the ground-up restoration in 2001. Pre-restoration condition was excellent. Factory air conditioning, rear speakers with fader, rear window defogger, rear mount antenna and chrome L79 air cleaner. Restoration to original factory specifications, with some upgrades done for road worthiness. Engine was not salvageable, another 327 was sourced and rebuilt to original 300hp specifications, Powerglide replaced with Turbo Hydromatic 350 automatic utilizing stock shifter and console. Running original 10-bolt one legged rear end with rear sway bar. Custom dual exhaust with crossover pipe and glass pack mufflers. Rare factory air conditioning, utilizing all the factory brackets and equipment. Has original SS hubcaps and Goodyear Eagle GT tires. Most parts are original to vehicle. Strong running and dependable engine, well balanced and running correct 4 barrel carburetor. Very smooth riding car and so much fun to drive. Door panels were modified to eliminate screws on the bottom of the panels. Car is featured in the Standard Catalog of Chevelle 1964-1987 by John Gunnell on page 16. Wheel well mouldings were left off for a sportier look.
