Description
Lot #406 - L79 Nova, one of 1,274 built with factory installed 327/325hp motor known as the L79. The short block in the car is a factory replacement CE L79 that was replaced the day after the original owner picked up the car from the dealership. This car still retains its original factory BorgWarner heavy duty 3-speed transmission and original 12-bolt posi-traction 3.55 gear ratio rear end. This 1968 Nova is one of a handful of documented 1968 L79 Novas known to exist. A lot of factory options were ordered by the original owner. Tinted glass, 4-piston front disc brakes, front and rear bumper guards, exterior bright trim package, one-year-only exterior body side trim, one-year-only plastic rocker skirts and custom bench seat interior just to name a few. The car also retains all five original XB Rally wheels along with its original spare tire. Documents include a copy of the original Louisiana title when new, GM warranty Protect-O-Plate with original owner's manual, factory Broadcast Sheet and a copy of the original registration. Frame-off rotisserie restoration started in December 2009 and completed 2013. Detailed pictures of the restoration and parts used provided from start to finish. Everything on the car was replaced, rebuilt or re-plated. A long list of NOS parts used for restoration including the hood lip moldings, eye brow moldings, grille, both headlight bezels, antenna assembly, outside mirror, sill plates, rear bumper, Rally wheel center caps and the front and rear bumper guards are all NOS GM parts.
