Description
Lot #50.2 - This 1964 Chevelle Malibu is a wonderfully restored SS 396 big block car. Power is delivered by a hot 396 big block engine with aluminum cylinder heads, a mild street cam, high-performance roller rocker arms, an Edelbrock intake manifold, a Holley double-pumper carburetor and a pair of headers routing spent gases to a dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers. A low-restriction and reusable K&N air filter tops the engine. A freshly rebuilt GM Turbo-Hydramatic 700R4 4-speed overdrive automatic transmission handles the engine's massive power and torque output in concert with a 2,500rpm stall converter. The Chevelle's suspension has been upgraded for improved handling performance with brand new upper and lower control arms, inner and outer tie rods, front sway bar and bushings, center-link bushings and high-performance coil springs. Front disc brakes provide sure stops. The Chevelle's interior is nice and clean, with the car equipped with a vintage-style stereo unit with auxiliary input and a tilt steering column. New trim pieces and bumpers complement the Chevelle's new exterior paint finish and the whole package rides on a brand new set of BFGoodrich radial T/A's and SS rally wheels. An excellent and handsome performer complete with build and parts receipts, this Chevelle sounds like a monster with a super aggressive exhaust note to match its big block power plant and classic bodylines.
