Description
Lot #1660 - A total of just 74 361cid Ram Induction cars were produced and only 41 were Phoenix 2 door hardtops. This one was built at the Dodge Main Hamtrack assembly line in Detroit, MI March 16, 1960 and sold at Ilderton Dodge in High Point, NC. It was reported to have been a Moonshine Hauler in Piedmont Region of NC. This was validated when 1 bullet hole in the hood and 3 in the driver's quarter panel behind the door were repaired. Featured in numerous collector and muscle car magazines, calendars and cards. Legendary drag racer Bill "Maverick" Golden signed the air cleaner and trunk lid after making it his celebrity pick at the 1997 Carlisle All Chrysler Nationals. He said it closely resembles his original black 1960 Dart with the optional all vinyl custom interior in which he won his 1st Super Stock title. According to retired Chrysler vice president and D500 guide author Darrell Davis, as of March 2010, this was the only one of the 41 original 361 Ram Induction cars he had on file.
