Lot #1528 - Very rare 1968 20' "Long Coach" design that sleeps 6. The VIN number is designated with "LV" which differentiates it as a long vehicle design vs. the factory production 18.5" models. Clark only produced 3,211 coaches total. Only 318 built in 1968. This Cortez is in amazing collector condition. Previously owned by Mr. David Munday the former president of the Cortez Club. Mr. Munday was a huge influence in modernizing the Clarks with V8 motors and disc brakes. He also developed polyurethane bushings for the independent suspension to replace the rubber ones that would rot out over time as well as he designed and produced one piece steel wheels that replaced the old very dangerous split rim design. Needless to say this coach has all of these upgrades. Has several books of receipts and service work done over the life of this coach. Has an original 1963-1969 Clark Cortez Service & Technical Information Manual, an original owner's manual, a very old copy of the Cortez Information Library. Have remarkably well preserved original publications of the Clark Cortez Nationals dating back to 1976 and all the way through 1990. This was a publication sent to National Cortez Club members. The coaches fuel injected 360 V8 paired with the manual transmission move this beast with ease. Runs and drives great. The disc brakes make stopping just as easy as to get going. There is also a roof mounted air conditioner as well as a small solar panel on the roof that keeps the coach charged while the motor is not running. Front wheel drive with 4-wheel independent suspension.
