Lot #637 - Quartz Blue metallic paint, dark blue softtop, gray leather, royal maple wood trim, leather/royal maple wood steering wheel with shift knob, 40th Anniversary roadster floor mats, heated seats and a six-disc CD changer. Originally selling on June 14, 1997 at Barrier Motors in Bellevue WA, this SL has a clean CARFAX and was a one-owner vehicle up until May, 2013. Now coming out of Gregg Prokop's private collection, the detailed history provided since new shows the impeccable service this roadster has received. Most recently, a synthetic oil and filter change in December, 2013. New front and rear pads, rotors and sensors were installed, as well as a brake flush performed late October, 2013. The mechanical function of the engine, transmission, exhaust, suspension, braking system and rear axle are leak-free and operate as designed by Mercedes-Benz. Switches, gauges, lights, climate control, radio (including external antenna), compartment covers, cupholders, hardtop, softtop and safety restraint systems all function as designed by Mercedes-Benz. There are no water leaks through any of the rubber seals on the hard or softtops, windows, doors, decklid and tail lights. No warning lights of any kind illuminate after the roadster's engine has been started. The Michelin tires have greater than 75% tread remaining. Servicing has been completed since new at an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealership and the history is available. Having been accident-free and garage-kept its entire life in the Pacific Northwest, the original paint and surrounding trim show as new with minimal wear. No fading or cracking of the following and also show as new with minimal wear: interior material (leather, carpet and wood), the Haartz top (canvas softtop and rear plastic window) and all glass and plastic lenses. The engine compartment, door jams, wheel wells and undercarriage are free from lubricant or road grime buildup as well as no salt corrosion being evident. A set of brand new stock wheels with center caps and a pair of brand new 40th Anniversary monogrammed floor mats were installed the summer of 2013. These added to the pedigree of this SL which became a First Place show winner, August 11, 2013 MBCA Seattle Section Show and Shine. Included in the purchase are the original MSRP Window Sticker, two remote keys, one valet key, owners books, windscreen, hardtop, hardtop stand, a set of brand new "in the wrapper" 40th Anniversary factory monogrammed floor mats (no longer available through MBUSA parts), all service history since new and a copy of the CARFAX dated January, 2014. Less than 37,000 original miles.
