Description
Lot #444 - Originally customized in 1948 for shop use at Charlie's Auto Service in Tucson, AZ. All paint is original from 1948, sign work was done by "Spencer." Tons of rare accessories originally installed in the 1940s including bumper guards, driving light, locking gas cap, bakelight turn signal switch on shifter, turn signal "arrow" light mounted under the tailgate, motor minder gauge, vacuum operated E-brake buzzer, lantern brake light, flame thrower exhaust, Bosch column mounted clock, rocket hood emblem, push bar and spotlight. Tonneau bed cover is original from the 1940s, interior is from the 50s, with the exception of the floor mat. Went through the entire brake system, rodded out the radiator, replaced all 4 tires, (originals come with truck), replaced the engine and lighting harness with an original cloth-type reproduction and replaced engine fluids and filter. Runs great and does not smoke. 3-speed manual transmission and all gauges work as well as lights. Comes with original keychains from "Charlies" circa 1940-1950s. All registrations from 1951-1962 in the name of "Charlie's Auto Service." Letterhead of shop with notes regarding the truck. Copies of pictures from the late 40s and early 50s showing the truck in its exact form. This is a true piece of automobile history not a faux-paint truck made to look like a real shop truck.
