Description
Lot #726 - GM's truck line was all new for 1960 and along with an entirely new body design, new dropped ladder frame, plus larger and more modern interior, for the first time, 4-wheel drive was offered as optional equipment direct from the factory. However, depending on configuration, the 4x4 option added as much as 47% to the base MSRP, so just 16% of Chevy trucks were delivered new from the factory with 4WD for 1960. This K10 Apache is one of those trucks. This K10 is freshly out of a meticulously researched, frame-off, every nut and bolt restoration using exclusively NOS parts even down to NOS upholstery for the seat. Under the hood is the factory correct date coded 283cid, 160hp/270ft/lbs, V8, which was totally rebuilt in the restoration along with the other mechanical components, including the complete braking system, the suspension and electrical, plus the frame completely stripped and refinished, correct-style reproduction off-road tires fitted on the original locking hub wheels and all new hard wood bed floor fabricated and finished black, exactly as it would have rolled off the assembly line. Included with purchase is a comprehensive file of receipts and restoration photo album, original NOS shop manuals and parts catalogue, a rare original 1960 Chevrolet Salesmen Truck Data Book, original sales brochures, and owner's manual. Just 150 miles driven since restoration.
