Description
Lot #375 - This Austin-Healey Sprite Mark IV is a dry, rust-free car that has lived in the Seattle area almost it's entire life and has been extremely well maintained and enthusiast owned from day one. The most recent owner acquired the car in 1984, pampered and maintained it as needed throughout his three decades of ownership. The car is now out of a total, freshly-completed restoration that included new paint refinished in this car's original British Racing Green, plus new black upholstery and brand new black softtop also just as the car was delivered new. Under the hood, the engine was rebuilt; the motor compartment refinished to factory specification and the suspension was refurbished as well. Fewer than 1,000 miles driven since completion. Included with the car is the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate the owner's handbook and vintage service guide, the modern Bentley Publishing complete workshop manual, three sets of keys, receipts and owner history and even vintage Sprite magazine ads. The Mark IV is the final and best version of the Austin-Healey Sprite, desirable for its larger 1,275cc engine derived from the Mini Cooper S and permanently affixed folding softtop, which joined wind-up windows and front disc brakes introduced on the previous version in making for a thoroughly modern sports car.
