Description
Lot #1032 - Very rare 1972 GS Stage 1 coupe, one of only 101 cars produced with the 4-speed manual option, and one of only three to be produced in Silvermist. A thorough rotisserie-style restoration was completed in 2007, where the car was transformed into a Resto-Mod. With intentions of retaining the stock appearance of the Stage 1, only NOS parts were used to restore the body. Outside of the switch plate, lower gauges and shift-light, the interior appears in stock form. With that being said, this is where the real fun begins - modern suspension components were merged with the original suspension parts to create a car that handles great, looks awesome and rides comfortably. The drivetrain is based on a 1970 Buick Stage 1 block bored .030 over, balanced and blueprinted, with forged pistons (12:1 compression), race-ported heads, TA 1.60 roller rockers with TA 510 camshaft, TA single plane aluminum intake, 850 carburetor with 1050 CFM, Mallory 9000 distributor, TA electric water pump, aluminum radiator and electric fans and a custom driveshaft with Spicer U-joints connected to the stock GM 10-bolt posi-traction rear.
