Lot #526.1 - Lightweight 1966 Dodge D/Dart finished in Valiant White over maroon interior. Extremely rare singular example. 1966 was the high point for factories producing high profile Super Stock and FX Series classes ready to race cars for their customers. In 1966 Dodge offered the now famous D/Dart, a lightweight racer, ready to compete in NHRA and AHRA's D/Stock class right off the showroom floor. They were equipped with a 273/275hp engine. They had a Weber clutch that sent the 273's torque through a Hurst-shifted A833 heavy duty 4-speed to a 4.86 geared 8 3/4 Sure-Grip differential. Original from the factory they came with red interior, bucket seats and heavy duty suspension. There were only 50 produced ready to race. This car is fitted with period-correct Cragar S/S wheels and the period racing slicks. It still retains its factory code WW1 Valiant White paint and mostly all original and correct red vinyl interior with its factory radio and heater delete. This very rare, A body drag racer is in it's extremely and mostly all original as can be expected condition. Extensive documentation included in the sale of this vehicle. Recently fully serviced and ready to race today as it was built for.
