Description
Lot #1066 - The top engine package for the 1967 Pontiac GTO was the optional 400cid Ram Air, which was grossly under rated at 360hp. This car is one of only 156 produced with the heavy duty Turbo Hydramatic transmission and a 4.33:1 Safe-T-Track rear axle. This car comes from the Pontiac Historic Services (PHS) personal collection of founder Jim Mattison. Starting with an exceptionally nice car, early in 2013 this car received a complete nut and bolt frame-off restoration by well-known restorer Scott Tiemann of Supercar Specialties. Careful attention was given to ensure that everything was restored to an "as new" show quality condition. Upon completion, this past summer the GTO went to the 2013 GTOAA National Convention to be judged and received a top Concours Gold award. Although it was completely rebuilt, this car still has the original Ram Air engine that it was born with. The body was refinished in the correct and original Mariner Turquoise color. The vinyl top is original to the car. Detail to the underside is as nice as the top side. The car comes with a complete set of photos of the restoration, as well as the PHS paperwork and Pontiac Window Sticker.
