Description
Lot #1291 - This is a very rare and unique 1969 Charger 500. There were only 500 produced by Chrysler. This car is a matching numbers 426/425hp with a 727 TorqueFlite automatic transmission. The color is F8 Dark Metallic Green with black buckets and console interior. With only 1,295 original miles, this HEMI Charger 500 is one of the lowest mileage Chargers in the world. Delivered to Norton Bros. Dodge in Petaluma, CA, the original owner retired the car in 1971 after running 400 miles on drag strips. The original 426 HEMI had been replaced with a race motor for its first 400 miles. After sitting in storage for almost 30 years, it was brought back to life and restored in 1998 including its original matching numbers 426. This Charger 500 is loaded with options unusual to muscle cars of this era including left side remote control mirror, tinted windshield, 3-speed windshield wipers, light group, tachometer with clock, 8-track stereo tape deck with AM radio and rear seat speaker. Other options include performance axle package including Sure-Grip 4.10 differential, power steering and power front discs brakes. From the Michael Jenkins Collection.
