Description
Lot #710.1 - Chassis 1145145 was scheduled for production on August 6, 1963 and delivered to Seattle, WA. The data plate indicates it is a Model 241, which was configured with eight seats, a full middle seat and right side cargo doors. As a U.S. spec model, it has six pop-out windows, American bumpers and safety belt mountings. Here is a wonderfully restored 1964 21 Window Samba Bus in Turkis and white exterior with Como and Phosphor Green interior. Restored with meticulous attention to detail inside and out. The bus was media blasted and stripped to bare metal then mounted to a rotisserie where the body was massaged to better than new and finished in the highest quality German paint available. Every inch of this bus has been restored to concours quality, even the underside of the bus. All windows on the bus have been replaced with new Safari-style glass including front windshields and the ultra-rare Safari back glass. Powered by a completely rebuilt 1,600cc factory motor and a 4-speed transmission this bus runs and drives beautifully. Every part of the interior has either been replaced or restored to like new condition. The two tone interior has been professionally installed as well as the floor which was done in authentic German square weave carpet. During the mechanical and cosmetic restorations, precise attention to detail was given to this bus to keep it as authentic as possible. This bus has been part of a private collection since completion of the restoration and has always been stored in a climate controlled environment. This is truly one of the finest 21 Window busses you will ever see and have the opportunity to own.
