Lot #393.1 - For 1968, the Oldsmobile 442 (400cid, 4-barrel carburetion, two exhaust pipes) was upgraded from a simple options package to its own separate model, which was denoted by VINs that start with the digits 344. This car was built at the Fremont, CA plant and sold new in California. It is fresh out of a complete, bare-metal restoration with fewer than 200 miles driven since completion. Finished in Scarlet Red with black stripes, black convertible top and black interior. In addition to the heavy duty springs, bucket seats, black mesh grille and special trim that came as standard on the 442 model, this convertible is further equipped with optional power steering, power disc brakes, Turbo Hydramatic transmission, floor shifter, sports console, power operated convertible top and it rolls on the proper black-centered Super Stock II (SSII) wheels wearing new BFGoodrich radial tires.
