Lot #320 - Showcasing a beautiful example of a rare 1947 Ford pickup that has been completely restored. It is painted in Village Green with tan accents and the engine has been upgraded to a Flathead 8 cylinder. Ford Motor Company made a dramatic move in the commercial vehicle market at the beginning of the 1942 model year. While competitors Chevrolet and Dodge were slow to adopt integrated fenders and headlights, Ford did so in a single sweep. The new truck cab had full width fenders with lights embedded in the catwalk area between the fenders and grille. The grille itself was a waterfall design which was painted in a contrasting color. This truck was found in very good original condition and underwent a full frame-off restoration that was completed in 2012. Everything on the truck was restored or replaced. The exterior was painted in beautiful Village Green with a tan grille and hood trim. The bed was replaced with a new reproduction bed with an oak floor. The factory oak would've been painted black but this bed was stained black to allow for the wood grain to show through. The exterior is complimented with a completely restored dark green interior. The engine compartment is nicely detailed. As the chassis number indicates it was born as a 6 cylinder model #7GC. It is now a faithful rendition of model #79C V8 with a model #59AB Flathead V8 engine. The engine is coupled with a 4-speed transmission that shifts great. It has a solid front axle and live rear axle with longitudinal semi-elliptic leaf springs, 4-wheel hydraulic drum brakes and a 114" wheelbase. This pickup is serviced, detailed and ready to go.
