This 1964 Fairlane has gone through a complete and extensive restoration and only has been driven a few thousand miles since completion. Everything on this car has been restored or replaced. It was restored by a Fairlane Thunderbolt enthusiast and truly a labor of love. The goal was to build a Thunderbolt re-creation with more character than the original. All of the sheet metal is original except the hood and front fenders. The body is very straight with great gaps. The body was painted in Flaming Orange Pearl paint that is simply stunning especially in the sunlight. All of the decals were custom made. The car sits on polished 15" American Racing wheels that give it a great stance. The exterior is complimented with a custom matching orange and white interior that is rich but also very nostalgic. Auto Meter Phantom gauges were added which consist of an rpm gauge on the dash and a row of four were added under the dash. It has a custom center console that looks great. The engine compartment is highly detailed and is also painted orange. It houses an amazing 427cid V8 that has been dyno tested at 610hp. Some engine upgrades include a Barry Grant Demon carburetor, Edlebrock Victor JR hi raise intake, AFR 220cc aluminum heads, MSD ignition system, polished valve covers and water pump. The engine runs excellent on pump gas and is cooled by a custom aluminum radiator that fits great. The engine is coupled with a Tremec 5-speed transmission and Ford 9" rear end with Moser axles. The trunk compartment is also painted orange and home to the spare tire and battery. The undercarriage is nicely detailed. The steering, brakes and suspension have all been upgraded. This is one great looking and driving car with drag racing nostalgia.
