Description
Lot #678 - Before the new generation Torino came out in 1970, the Ford Dealer Association in Oregon got together with an idea to promote the new body style. The special Torino would be unique to the Northwest and 601 were to be produced. Final production was 395. Available in three colors, this one is Pacific Blue with a black hood, dual chrome hood lock pins, dual racing mirrors, rocker panel racing stripes and argent styled wheels, all prevalent to this model. Of the 395 Type N/W only five were 429s and of that only one is a 429CJ. This is that car. Chrome Super Stock wheels and radials added for effect (original wheels and covers go with car). The only other change was to the rear differential. The 3.0 ratio was replaced with a 3.70 gear locker. All of the original tags are still located on the engine, transmission and rear differential. Matching numbers. What makes this car even more interesting is that only 12 Torino's were built total, with the non-ram air 429 Cobra Jet (coded "C" in the VIN). Comes with cool recent photo of original owner and salesman (now in there 80's) with the car parked in front of still operating, selling Ford dealership.
