Lot #749 - This 1965 Chevelle Malibu was completely rebuilt from the ground up at Hot Rods and Custom Stuff in Escondido, CA. The frame is a Roadster Shop-built 1964-72 Chevelle RS Stage III Chassis with a swivel link parallel 4 bar rear suspension, a 9" posi-traction rear end with 3.70 gears and double adjustable coilovers front and rear. Braking is handled by Wilwood disc brakes, 6-piston front and 4-piston rear, with 13" cross drilled rotors. The body of the car was tubbed 4" in the rear to accommodate the 20"x11" rear wheels. The door handles were shaved, drip rails removed and remade by hand and all bumper bolts were eliminated front and rear. The engine is an LS2 (364cid) fuel injected, supercharged V8 built and tuned by Turnkey Motors in Oceanside, CA. The engine package boasts 700hp and 680 ft/lbs of torque at the motor and was dyno tuned delivering 581hp to the rear wheels. The transmission is a 6-speed manual from D&D Performance which uses a clutch from the ZR1 Corvette. Exhaust is through dual 3" oval tubing that runs through designed ports in the chassis to Flowmaster mufflers with electric cut outs after the headers. The interior is custom black leather with a fabricated center console, power windows, tilt steering column with a Momo steering wheel, Vintage Air and a CD/MP3 compatible sound system. The chassis, rear end, coil springs and control arms were powder coated to match the custom paint job. The programmable Isis wiring system enables remote door and trunk entry with the key fob.
