Description
Lot #680 - Grey Hills Restoration completed a frame-of-restoration in 2009. The restoration was a labor of love that took 25 years with more than $250,000 invested. The car has a black exterior, black leather headliner, seats and interior, and black mouton fur carpeting. For judging of authenticity, the Lincoln and Continental Owners Club (LCOC) permits colors and materials that were available in 1955-57. The current owner chose to finish this car in a formal triple black and use luxurious mouton fur in both the interior and trunk. Many NOS parts were purchased for this restoration including rocker moldings, grille bars, trunk, fender and deck-lid ornaments. Refinished stainless-steel trim and many chrome items including the two massive double bumpers. Both the engine and transmission were rebuilt, as were many of the other mechanical components. A new wiring harness was installed. The car was essentially completed in 2009 and has been shown exclusively at LCOC National Meets since then. It was judged best Mark II in 2009 and Best in Show at the 2010 Lincoln, Nebraska meet. Since then, it has been shown at three additional meets and been awarded 100 points out of a possible 100 twice (six of six judges). LCOC judging includes authenticity, appearance and mechanical items. The car has very low mileage since completion and travels to meets in covered transport. The car has been stored in climate controlled, commercial storage facilities since it was completed.
