Description
Lot #438 - In June, 2008, Steve Sanderson of Sanderson's Customs & Conversions signed a deal with George Barris, the King of Kustomizing, known for the most recognized car in the world, the Batmobile, to produce limited edition Kustomized Dodge Challengers. Sanderson purchased two Challengers in 2008 as George Barris worked on the design of the cars. The first car is known as the Red Demon. This is the Number 1 Prototype available exclusively at Barrett-Jackson. The design dictated all fabrication be done in metal, which includes 1 1/2" fender flares, 2 1/2" quarter flares with custom metal rockers that tie the two together. The custom paint, designed by George Barris thru Sherwin Williams Planet Color, demanded that the Red Demon would change colors according to light. Custom carbon fiber hood scoop and wings were added according to Mr. Barris' design. Another feature of the Red Demon includes vertical doors, the first Challenger to have them, which were fabricated by Vertical Doors in Corona, California. The custom interior has a leather wrapped dash and leather inserts that embraces Mr. Barris' signature. Other cosmetic additions include headlight covers, grille, ICE wheels which are 20" in the front and 22" in the rear. Custom audio system includes custom stereo, amp and kicker box. The Red Demon also has Air Ride by Air Ride Technologies, red tint on the windows, billet aluminum in the interior and engine compartment which also includes a carbon fiber engine cover and a custom painted intake. George Barris signed the dash at SEMA, 2008. Pictures will be provided. Less than 3,200 actual miles.
