Lot #398 - This is a 1958 15 Window bus that has an original walk thru front seat. 1958 was the last year for many rare features on VW buses. This bus is very solid and has never had any rust repairs done to it. It is from the California high desert where it spent the majority of its life. It is a popular bus in the California VW scene. This bus features soft green interior, which is rare for these early VW buses, including a German mohair headliner, 3/4 walk thru middle seat and the deluxe luggage bars in the back. Underneath the bus has both a new transmission and completely rebuilt front end with new spindles and brakes. The motor is a stock 1600 built for reliability. This bus cruises down the street beautifully and was built to be driven. This vehicle is painted one of the all time best original VW bus color schemes of Palm Green and Sand Green. 1958 was the last year of this color combination. It also features correct pressed bumpers and deluxe bumper and beltline moldings for that touch of class and style. This is a great reliable bus that has a complete new wiring harness which is why all lights on the vehicle work.
