Description
Lot #760 - Showcasing "Heart Attack". This one-of-a-kind 1968 Camaro street machine is over the top and simply spectacular. It's won multiple awards and was a Summit Racing cover and centerfold featured car. This was a 3-year and no-expense-spared restoration. It is hard to explain in words the attention to detail this car received. The body is laser straight with amazing gaps. Many body features were fabricated, such as the body is channeled 1" over the frame, shaved drip rails and door handles, marker lights, bumpers, frenched taillights, cut and molded hood, stretched inner fenders and smoothed door jams. The undercarriage is extremely detailed, including smoothed and painted wheel wells. The entire car was painted in a custom blend of PPG Candy Apple Red paint, which is beautiful. Everything on the exterior is new, including the trim and tinted glass. The car sits on 15" Billet Specialties wheels and Mickey Thompson tires. The massive rear tires are 31x18.5x15. The exterior is complimented with a completely custom cream leather interior. The dash is modified stock with custom sheet metal insert. The Auto Meter speedometer and rpm gauges are in the center and three gauges were placed on each side for a true cockpit feel. Some other custom interior features include a sheet metal center console, fiberglass door panels and subwoofer enclosure, smoothed roll cage, Billet Specialties steering wheel, B&M shifter, power windows, keyless entry, hidden ignition and switches, billet pedals and custom sound system. The trunk compartment has also been upholstered to match the interior and houses the fuel cell, sound system equipment and two batteries. The extremely detailed engine compartment is home to the massive 427cid big block. Some engine upgrades include a BDS 8-71 blower with dual 750 Holley carburetors, Russell fuel rail, Merlin ported heads, one-off valve covers, pulley system, MSD ignition, Barry Grant fuel pump and Powermaster starter and alternator. The engine runs amazing and is very street friendly. It breathes through Hedman headers and 3" stainless dual exhaust system with Supertrapp mufflers. The exhaust even has billet exhaust clamps and comes out the center of the rear. The engine is coupled with a built Turbo 350 and TCI 3,800 stall converter that is cased and painted. The chassis is also completely custom and features a boxed and smoothed front sub-frame and Alston backhalf, Alston roll cage, front suspension has 2" narrowed tubular A-arms with Air Rid and other upgrades, back suspension has custom ladder bar with Alden coilover shocks. It has a narrowed Ford 9" rear end with 31-spline axles, limited slip and Richmond 4.56 gears. Wilwood 4-piston disc brakes are at all four corners for excellent stopping power. The list goes on and on.
