Lot #1591 - The 1957 Corvette was a break through year for GM "fiberglass experiment" that struggled when first introduced in 1953. It was finally in 1957 that the Corvette grew some high performance teeth with enhanced performance engine offerings that helped Corvette earn its true sports car stripes. Purchased from the original owner, this '57 Corvette is a stunning survivor and is still on its original title from the owner verifying its legacy. This car has been inspected by Jeff Hyman of Classic Auto Appraiser and comes with a full inspection report verifying its originality. At the heart of this unique Corvette is the 245hp dual quad engine. Other important optional equipment included with this car are the lift off hard top and rare 2-speed, Powerglide automatic transmission, and even rarer power top option. This Corvette in the original Aztec Copper paint, which is the second rarest color that year, also has its all original vinyl seating surfaces, dashboard paint and door panels. The overall interior sports correct components including the unique Powerglide shifter and floor-mounted pattern and proper carpeting with some wear to further verify the original survivor status of this Corvette.
