Description
Lot #1553 - This is one of only three ROUSH Yates "D3" NASCAR Sprint Cup engines customized for education/fan purposes. Customization is that a portion of the engine is cut away to expose springs, valves, push rods and pistons. An electric motor moves the crank slowly so one can see how the exposed components interact. This particular engine has lived at the NASCAR Hall of Fame since the day it opened in May 2010. It was recently replaced with ROUSH Yates' new Ford FR9 electronic fuel injected engine. Prior to the engine leaving the HOF, it was signed by most living members of the HOF. A true collector's piece. Those who signed include Junior Johnson, Richard Petty, Leonard Wood, nominee Jack Ingram, Rusty Wallace, Bobby Allison, Dale Inman, Ned Jarrett and Glen Wood.
