Lot #1132 - The totally rust-free exterior contains a concours quality repaint of the original Ford Wimbledon White with correct gloss black hood stripe and ultra rare NOS hood scoop and black C side stripes. The sheet metal is 100% original. The original Ford bumpers have been rechromed and all the stainless windshield trim has been polished. All the exterior bolt-on items are NOS including the vent-wing, very rare GT gas cap, tail light assemblies, stainless rolled exhaust tips, back-up lights, door handles, side marker lights and the complete GT grille assembly with foglights. In addition, all bolt-on molding and trim is NOS. The glass is all mint condition. Chrome GT rims with NOS trim rings and hubcaps with repro Goodyear Polyglas tires are mounted. The fully restored interior is the correct Ford black standard. All GT appointments are there, including 140mph speedometer and 8,000rpm tachometer. The rare original 4-speed shifter with correct shifter ball is present. All dash bezels have been rechromed. An original Philco AM radio has been installed without antenna in lieu of the availability of an original '68 radio block -off plate at this time, having been ordered with radio delete. The fully restored and detailed trunk compartment contains a quality trunk mat with an NOS Polyglas spare tire on the correct chrome GT rim and all original jack equipment. The concours detailed engine compartment contains a recently rebuilt date code correct 428 Cobra Jet engine and big input 4-speed Top Loader transmission. All correct Cobra Jet equipment is in place. This includes the original Ram Air cleaner assembly with reproduction rubber hood seal, a very rare and expensive original concours restored C8OE-AA Holley 735cfm carburetor, C80F-D Autolite distributor with NOS diaphragm, NOS starter delay, NOS fiberglass radiator shroud with original "Caution Fan" sticker, NOS washer bottle and original smog equipment. Additionally, the correct clutch fan assembly, pulleys, alternator, date coded '68 water pump, rechromed valve covers and original C80E exhaust manifolds with heatshield and S-tube are in place. Factory power disc brakes are the only option. This '68 Cobra Jet Mustang GT fastback is one of only 1,236 4-speeds built. Concours restored from a rust-free San Jose built original Cobra Jet with a 15 year collection of NOS parts. An addition, this '68 Cobra Jet was ordered by Russ Davis Ford, the famous high performance Ford dealer in Covina, CA. Included are the Marti Report and Window Sticker.
