Description
Lot #1005 - Matching numbers and PHS documented L75 455HO Ram Air convertible with both original Build Sheets. One of only 241 total production 455 GTO convertibles built with an automatic transmission in 1970 and even rarer equipped with option code #601 Ram Air Inlet and combined with burgundy exterior color. The original owner did not want the 400 Ram Air III or 400 Ram Air IV option but specifically wanted Pontiac's biggest cubic inch 455 engine with Ram Air components. The 455cid was Pontiac's largest power plant available and the 1970 455cid was the highest compression 455cid Pontiac engine ever built and a one-year-only engine with Ram Air. It also included a 12-bolt rear differential, significant to this engine only, and not available on any other GTO's that year, including the Ram Air IV Judges. Only a few owners since new and not registered since 1976, this GTO was resurrected and received a concourse frame-off restoration. Highly optioned and documented, this particular car's options and trim options make it one of the finest and rarest GTOs.
