Description
Lot #760 - The second generation Camaro debuted with a late introduction in January of 1970 and the totally new Z/28 package took the automotive press by storm. Now equipped with a much higher horsepower Corvette LT1 350cid motor, it was still a high winding Chevy small block, but low end torque and overall drivability was greatly improved over the 302cid from 1969. This car offered here today is a perfectly optioned 1970 Z/28 built in what may be the most striking color of the model year, Daytona Yellow. The Rally Sport package, optional on a Z/28, is how you got the famous split bumper styling and other desirable features on this car: M21 wide ratio 4-speed manual transmission, power steering, deluxe interior, AM/FM stereo radio, tinted Glass and most noteworthy, the special order COPO 3-piece rear spoiler. This well documented, matching numbers car has just gone through a comprehensive rotisserie restoration, including a complete mechanical rebuild to the highest standards with the goal of achieving assembly line correct details. This car was found to have never been rusted or damaged and retains all of its original body panels, including floor pans and trunk floor. The engine compartment and under carriage is show quality. Only sorting and testing miles have been logged since last summer's completion. Superb restoration, good documentation, 4-speed Rally Sport.
