Lot #982.1 - Presenting "OldsRod." This rare and all-steel '36 Olds 3 window coupe is a rolling piece of artwork. The craftsmanship on this restoration is amazing with no expense spared. "OldsRod" is truly a one-of-a-kind build with many custom upgrades. The body lines are incredible. It has been finished in Mercedes-Benz metallic silver paint with gray accents and flames by famous Art Himsl. Some exterior upgrades include shaved moldings and door handles, relocated headlights, running boards, mirrors, lights, turn signals, bumpers, hood that tilts forward and one-piece windows. It sits perfectly on the custom made billet wheels by Wheel Vintiques. The exterior is complimented with a completely custom gray leather interior. Some interior upgrades include a '36 Packard dash, bezel with Stewart Warner gauges, two glove boxes which the driver's side houses the Vintage Air and heat controller, wipers and electric cowl opener, tilt steering column with Billet Specialties steering wheel, billet appointments throughout, bucket seats with storage compartments and a custom sound system consisting of a CD changer, kick panel speakers, overhead tweeters and a 10" subwoofer. The trunk compartment also matches the interior. This Olds wasn't built to only look amazing, but run and drive amazing as well. The engine compartment is very detailed and houses a GM ZZ4 350 with aluminum heads and a Billet Specialties V-Trac system. The custom air cleaner matches the theme. The engine is coupled with a 350 racing transmission and Trans Am built rear end. It breathes through ceramic Hooker headers and Dynomax dual exhaust. An X-frame was added for strength. It has a Fatman Mustang II front suspension system with power rack & pinion steering. The rear suspension is also a Fatman system with a 4-link system. Air Ride shocks with Accu air allow for three different height settings. It is equipped with power disc brakes at all four corners.
