Description
Lot #7005 - Art Morrison constructed a complete chassis for a unibody car. This was the prototype for the Challenger. Art also built front spindles and tubular control arms. The rear is a 9" Trac Loc with axles from Strange Engineering, supported by a Morrison tri-link and panhard bar. Brakes are 14" disc by Wilwood with 6-piston calipers. The wheels were cut by Boyd Coddington. New rear quarters panels were fitted and widened 3" on each side to accommodate the 22"x10" wheels. Custom firewall and inner fender wells were needed for the all-aluminum Indy cylinder HEMI engine. Custom rear valence was built and bumpers were modified for flush mounting. Custom dash was built for the car and Classic Instruments were installed. Custom door panels molded from fiberglass with inserts. The floor tunnel and dash were fabricated for aluminum. Custom seats were built for back seat to fit around tubs and front seats were also custom built. Custom interior was covered with leather by Paul Atkins Interiors of Alabama. The engine is an all-aluminum engine by Indy Cylinder. Hensley Performance, who has built Mopar engines for over 35 years, performed the machine and assembly work.
