American music icon George Jones is recognized as the "Godfather of Country Music" with over 150 hits including his signature song "He stopped loving her today," considered to be the greatest Country Music song ever written. Frank Sinatra called him "the second best singer." Elvis opened for him in Vegas. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1992, made a Kennedy Center Honoree in 2008 and received a Lifetime Achievement Grammy in 2012. His fans know him as "No-Show Jones" or "The Possum."
