Description
Lot #319 - Rare big window Napco 4x4 called the Task Force Chevrolet 4-wheel drive model for 1959. This Chevrolet Apache 3600 3/4 ton truck has just recently undergone a complete ground-up, body off the frame restoration. This was the only 4-wheel drive option that was available from the Chevrolet assembly line in 1959. Fitted with the NAPCO "Powr Pak" transfer case and live front axle with lock-out hubs, it is joined to a 235cid Thriftmaster 6 cylinder coupled to a floor mounted 4-speed manual transmission. The floor mounted 4-speed then sends power to a separate cross member mounted NAPCO transfer case. Chevrolet stamped the frame with the VIN in 1959. Cab and frame carry the same matching number visibly verified. Moreover the NAPCO components are original and were installed at the factory, this is evident because the cross member is riveted to the frame. The 4-wheel drive system works as it should and the floor mounted 4-speed with a "granny" first gear, shifts wonderfully and moves this good looking truck right along. Restored with correct 17.5" wheels, Super Traxion tires and a long bed.
