Description
Lot #360 - This rare and collectible 1900s Texaco Red horse drawn fuel wagon is one of few known to exist. These wagons were pulled by two horses and the driver sat on a padded seat built into the tank. This original tank has three separate compartments designed to carry fuel, oil, kerosene or whatever the customer requested. The chosen liquid flows out the rear area of the tank through separate pipes and valves. The tanker rolls on a steel frame with 40" wheels on the front, 48" wheels on the rear and is equipped with a manual lever hand brake. Pulling this tanker is a pair of life-like horses with harness and gear. This piece of early American transportation history is ready for your collection or a museum display. Photos of the extensive restoration are included.
