Lot #619.1 - This 1969 Austin Mini Sprint has been chopped and channeled with custom paint and body work done by a master craftsman and fabricator. Built as a labor of love over a 10 year period. Featured in November 2006 Mini Magazine. At first glance, it's reminiscent of the Mini Sprints built in the '60's for racing, but this one's a full-custom, one-off build. There's 2" chopped from the bottom of the body and doors and a 3" chopped top. All-steel. Cut-down side windows, including sliding ones, are tempered glass and front and rear windscreens are laminated safety glass. Fresh Mincomp 1380cc engine with aluminum head and 4-speed, four-synchro, newer rod change transmission. Brakes are Cooper S-disc and drum. It has GAZ adjustable shocks. Under 1,500 miles since complete. Carburetion is a 45 Weber on alloy intake manifold. Exhaust is standard bore Maniflow LCB headers. Flywheel and clutch are lightened to Mincomp spec's with Cooper 'S' blue spot cover. Charging system upgraded to alternator. Its original hydrolastic, wet, suspension is upgraded with S Racer red coil springs with adjustable Hi-Los. Left-hand drive steering. Minilite-style 8-spoke alloys with Yokohama rubber. Modified Wood & Pickett style wheel flares. Body color mirrors. Stock Mk2 grille and stock deck lid. Full, pull-back style sunroof. Battery relocated to under rear seat. Small dry-cell racing battery. Custom fabricated fuel tank holds 10 gallons. Interior features wood dash, gray upholstery with modified Recaro-style seats. The suspension and underneath the car are just as clean as the rest of the car.
