Lot #379.1 - 1966 was the first year Chrysler offered the 426 HEMI in a street vehicle. This car was built at the St. Louis, MO plant on 1/19/66 and one of 503 HEMI Satellites with 4-speed transmission. As of 12/30/08, it was #11 of 79 in VIN sequence for all 1966 HEMI Satellites accounted for at the St. Louis plate built to specs for the U.S. It is exempt for California pollution control devices. It was shipped to California and sold new on 5/2/66 by Cypress Motors in Monterey, CA. Current owner purchased car March 11, 2004 from second owner who purchased the car used on 8/25/67. The car has the original CA license plates issued when new. The car was in storage from 1977 to 2004 in Northern California. Complete restoration including engine with matching numbers and documentation including Broadcast Sheets, trim tag, VIN tag and is listed in the Chrysler Registry. The following modifications that have been made to this vehicle by the current owner include color change from original paint of yellow to correct 1966 Satellite color light blue, power steering added, the gear shift lever was changed from the inland design to the Hurst design which was standard on all 4-speed Plymouth vehicles from 1968 ?, gas cap was replaced with the flip design that was standard on all 1967 Plymouth GTX vehicles, a rear sway bar and Monroe Max-Air shocks were installed. Original owner's manual, service manual and parts manual provided. Car has a sample Warranty Certicard in the engine compartment.
