Description
Lot #690.3 - Rare 1956 Ford Country Squire 8-passenger station wagon. Lovely original rust-free car that has just come out of a frame-on restoration to correct factory standards. The Squire was the top of the line Ford wagon model during the era. The Squire came equipped with three row collapsible seating, an automatic transmission and the venerable Thunderbird 292cid V8 engine. It offered a functional and well equipped interior that was very '50s chic. The restoration started with an original that was entirely correct, complete and cared for. The rockers and floors were original with factory undercoating still there and all of the original sheet metal resided on the car. The paint is the correct 1956 Ford color of Colonial White. All of the chrome and trim were removed and restored. Perfect reproduction die-noc wood trim was ordered and installed on the car. The lift gate works correctly as well with the two-piece glass and tail gate. All of the rubber moldings are brand new correct OEM materials. All of the window felt is also correct OEM material. The frame and underside are original and the car has the original sound deadener on the underside. Interiors Unlimited of Tolland, CT. did the interior using only LeBaron Bonney ingredients. The interior is stunning. The dash and instruments are excellent working originals. The carpeting is reproduction from LeBaron. The door jambs are beautiful. The sill plates are great. The badges and door handles are all new. The car has the original fender skirts with it. All the mechanical undercarriage components and suspension are excellent as well. The car has brand new wide white walls tires.
